Meet our senior management team – the men and women who are driving Stewardship Ontario’s ambitious agenda for improving the province’s recycling programs.  Each is responsible for effective and innovative management of their respective responsibilities, and for working together to bring us closer to achieving our vision of national leadership in product stewardship programs. 

Gemma Zecchini
Chief Executive Officer

As CEO since 2009, Gemma Zecchini is leveraging her in-depth understanding of waste diversion and environmental leadership to build Ontario’s first industry-funded product stewardship organization into a recognized leader in diversion and recycling.


Lyle Clarke

Vice-President, Innovation and Blue Box

Working with Ontario municipalities and leaders in the recycling industry and recycling entrepreneurs, Lyle is constantly looking for new and innovative ways to streamline the recycling supply chain, extract more value from recyclable material and improve program efficiency.

Tamara Burns
Vice-President Operations, Orange Drop Program

As the Vice President of Operations for the Orange Drop Program, Tamara Burns is responsible for managing all operations related to the collecting, transporting, processing, recycling or safe disposal of Municipal Hazardous and Special Waste (MHSW) products and materials – as well as ensuring that all recovery targets set out in the Waste Diversion Act are met and increasing the program’s visibility among Ontarians.

Kathleen Kennedy
Vice-President of Finance and Corporate Affairs

A chartered accountant with a strong background in risk, human resources and project management, Kathleen Kennedy draws on her expertise in finance and administration to lead our financial reporting, HR, audit compliance and risk programs, and to oversee the organization’s strategic planning process.
